“Bantry Girl’s Lament” and “Oblaki so rdeči” are two songs, created at different places in different times. One in Ireland at the time of the Spanish war for independence, the other in Slovene lands during the time of the First World War. They tackle the same topic in a very similar way. The Irish one from the perspective of a young girl who is waiting for her soldier, and the Slovene one from a young boy heading out to join the army.
